The beach wraps round the cottage, always ridiculously perfect as we arrived home each day. You can do without a car. Walking and using the round and round the island bus. Always the same driver dropping us where we wanted, arranging where he’d pick us up again. Walking to the ferry to Eriskay. The cottage is warm. comfortable and well equipped. The sun shone and the wind whipped and when it rained we waited in the phone box for the bus to tear around the corner. Walked from the airport to the cottage and back for amazing flights. Magical.
