6 Reviews on “2 Bogach”
Just back from 5 nights with my two young children and partner. Beautiful property located just across from a great bar/restaurant currently offering takeaway at this time.
Kitchen is massive, units dated but perfectly clean and functional.
Living room furniture has been upgraded and is super comfy tv has DVD player and WiFi is great (we took our prime stick for the kids in the mornings).
Bedrooms again clean and functional.
This is a new venture for the owner who has actively seeking feedback from guests, really refreshing approach.
Look forward to staying again soon.
Had a wonderful week with family whilst staying at 2 Bogach. This traditional island cottage is welcoming, full of charm and has the most amazing views from both front and back windows. All very private as well. We loved sitting on the rocks in the tidy back garden soaking up the sun.
The cottage truly is a home from home, very relaxing, warm and cosy, and has a large kitchen supplied with everything you need to cook for the family.
On booking the cottage we did not know that excellent WiFi internet was included. This was a boon as mobile phone reception with some carriers is very limited across the island.
The owners have been so helpful and nice making the entire holiday experience from start to finish a true pleasure. It’s rare to find present day!
We will definitely be back in the future and look forwards to that day.
My partner and I stayed in May. Amanda who owns the property was such a lovely and accommodating person. Our boat had been cancelled in the day we were meant to be arriving. We asked Amanda if we could offset an extra day to stay given the boat had been cancelled. Amanda confirmed this was a not a problem.
The house was lovely and cosy. The property was very clean. Kitchen is large and functional.
There is a hotel across from the cottage where we would go for a night cap.
We were loving the property so much we asked again if we could stay another night and again this was not a problem.
Will definitely be back.
Wishing Amanda all the very best in her new venture.
I am sure this will be a success.

My brother and I have just spent 5 nights at Bogach 2 as a base for walking and exploring Barra (13-18 June 2022) and the property was absolutely first class for our needs. The recently renovated toilet and shower room is bright, was spotlessly clean and the Mira electric shower was a sheer joy in the morning or after a day on our feet.
The rest of the house was also immaculate and very well equipped with everything you would need for a longer stay as a family – new cups/glasses and enough crockery to feed a school.
Beds, bedding and other soft furnishings were all of a high standard and home from home.
Communication with Amanda from the point of enquiring about availability at the start of the year, through to confirming departure time during our stay was fast and very pleasant.
The location of the cottage is superb and affords privacy and solitude. The Heathbank Hotel is literally 5 minutes walk door to door and provides excellent food and a very friendly welcome.
We wish Amanda and Seamus all the best for the future of their holiday-home business which I’m sure will prosper. I will certainly be staying again at some point soon.
We (Granny, daughter and 2 grandaughters) stayed here for a week in August 2022 and had a wonderful holiday. As others have written in their reviews, the cottage has everything needed to make it a home from home. On arrival everything was clean and welcoming, with the heating timed to come on when one arrived off the ferry in the cool of the evening. The heating is excellent should the weather turn cold. There were tea bags, coffee, biscuits and milk in the fridge for a cup of tea. We were fortunate in having good weather and cycled to some lovely beaches and even went swimming in Vatersay! The children loved the cottage and enjoyed playing in the well kept garden – flying kites was a good activity. The views from the garden are beautiful. A short walk to the local hotel provided a lovely meal one night, but the cottage has all the utensils, pots and pans and dishes to cook anything you wish. The Co-op is well stocked for food and other essentials.
Amanda was quick to respond to queries, booking was easy and directions to the cottage were easy to follow. 2, Bogach is excellent value and definitely a place to return to, if coming back to Barra!
We spent a week in May 2023.Great place to stay.very comfortable ,warm house in a super location.
Lovely to wake up in the morning to hear the cuckoo calling.
