Glen-river is a large two bedroom static caravan (size 35ft by 12ft) which sleeps 4+2 and is ideally situated in a peaceful location at the top of the Glen.
It is an excellent place to stay for couples, small families, hill walkers, bird watchers and wildlife watchers as it is at the foot of Heaval (the highest hill on Barra). Many birds and a variety of flowers can be seen around Glen-river.
The caravan is half a mile from the ferry terminal, shops, café, bars, restaurants, the bank and Kisimul Castle. It is 2.5 miles from the nearest beach and 7.5 miles from Barra Airport.
The accommodation comprises of an open plan well appointed lounge, dining area and kitchen fully equipped with a fridge with freezer compartment, gas cooker, microwave, kettle, toaster, cooking utensils, crockery and pots. There is electric heating throughout the caravan.
It has a large double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and a twin bedroom with a fitted wardrobe. All bed linen, towels and a hairdryer are provided.
The bathroom is spacious and comprises a WC, electric shower, and wash hand basin.
A decking area is situated adjacent to the caravan with a table and chairs for sitting outside.
Laundry facilities, an iron and ironing board and an inside storage area for bicycles and wet gear is provided. There is a large area for parking beside the caravan.

Fantastic caravan, very clean and comfortable. Catherine and Ian aware lovely hosts who were very helpful and welcoming.
Good location.
We stayed for 5 nights in August and were delighted with the accommodation and the location. Very well equipped and comfortable throughout. Owners are very helpful and respect your privacy. Lent us a bike pump and repair kit plus car charger and tyre pump!
Recommend it to anyone looking for self catering accommodation.
We stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful time. I would echo the views of the other reviewers, the caravan is immaculately clean, Catherine has thought of everything! There is even a washing machine and tumble drier for use, and for thos who like it Wifi too. The view is stunning, the location is brilliant and Catherine and Iain and very friendly and welcoming, happy to help but not at all intrusive. I would highly recommend it, and hope it will be available for our next visit to beautiful Barra!!
Thoroughly enjoy the last few days of the Easter holidays at Glen river caravan. It is the perfect location, five minute walk to ferry terminal and shops. Caravan is so well equipped it is home from home. Spotlessly clean with fresh bedding and towels. Laundry facilities available. I travelled with my children and they can’t wait to go back. Thank you Catherine and Iain for allowing us to stay in a great caravan in a lovely location on a very beautiful Island ??
